The Magic of a Fighting Spirit – The powerhouse wedding of Vanessa Herrera a professional martial artist & creator of the 1st Ever Musically Recognized Martial Arts Tournament announced she will be marrying Dominican born professional featherweight boxer Angel Luna on January 15, 2017 from 1-4 pm, Martin Luther King Weekend, a weekend that symbolizes Dr. King’s principles of courage, friendship, and love.
The dynamic duo met on June 6, 2015 when Luna won his match at the Barclays Center, on the undercard for Cotto V. Geale. Vanessa Herrera recalls Angel Luna winning the fight and coming to seat behind her to watch Cotto vs. Geale. The magic of the fighting spirit brought two hearts as one.
Currently all associates, friends and family are invited. The couple has declared that the main event will be taking place in Vanessa’s birthplace of the Bronx, NY. The wedding ceremony and reception will be located in the same venue. Given in marriage by her father, the bride would be in attendance by Touray Turner as maid of honor and seven other bridesmaids. The best man is Angel Luna’s trainer Mateo De La Cruz Ralph Willow to be followed by five groomsmen.
There will be the live performance by Latin music sensation Lokixximo isset who will perform at the couple’s first dance with his hit song “Como Yo Te Conoci”, alongside DJ Gordo Pro and hit-maker producer Add-On will play the keys as Ms. Herrera walks down the aisle to her soul mate, Luna. The bride graduated from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work & Counseling. She was employed fulltime with a foster care agency in New York City as well as carrying her own business promoting and working with major music artists from Def Jam & Interscope Records. Right after the reception Angel & Vanessa will be going to Disney World Orlando, Florida for their honeymoon.
