Every bride wants her wedding photos to be stunning. Is there anything the bride can do about it? Yes, there are several tips and tricks. Here are a few.

1. Discuss with Your Photographer about Lighting

Any photography, especially wedding photography such as Sydney wedding photography, depends on how best your lighting is. Your wedding photographer is the best to advise you on this in order to create excellent pictures of your big day. You should ensure you have maximum lighting possible. In case of uplighting, orange, blue and purple lights are considered the best, but avoid green lighting because it just doesn’t create a good atmosphere. Also, you can add lanterns, chandeliers, candles and strings of lights with your photographer’s advice to create a magical atmosphere and let them capture great photos.

2. Don’t Rush

If you think that your photographer would be able to capture excellent photos in a short time, you may be wrong. Great photos need ample time for setup and polish. For excellent wedding photos, allow 2 hours to the bride, groom and bridal party, 2 hours for bride’s preparation (after the completion of your hair and makeup) and an hour to boys for preparation. It’s commonly observed that two hours allotted for a task on wedding day becomes as short as one hour, and thus things are delayed, offering only a short time for photographers to do their job. So, make sure you offer ample time to your photographer so that they can capture great photos.

3. Worst Time for Photography

You might know that the best time for wedding photography is 1-2 hours after sunrise and 1-2 hours before sunset. But do you know the worst time? It’s between 12pm and 2pm. Thus, plan your schedule accordingly to avoid this time for photo session.

4. Choose a Large and Clean Room

For the bride to get ready, the room should be large and clean. Larger room will allow your photographer to take your photos from various angles and to use long lenses that cause a pleasing (slimming) effect. The room should also be clean of non-wedding-related clutter. Although this is a no-brainer, many brides just forget to clean the clutter which makes undesirable additions to the photos.

5. You Get Ready First

Make sure your makeup artist finishes your makeup first and then your bridesmaids’. They can refresh it just before you leave.

6. Allot Double the Time for Makeup and Hair Than You Think You Need

This will allow you more time if you or they are late, or if you don’t like what they have done.

Follow these tips and you’ll thank yourself when you’ll see the stunning photos of your big day.
