How to Play the Wedding Shoe Game?

The bride and groom are seated in the middle of the venue on chairs back-to-back.

Both of them have to remove their shoes and have to exchange one so that both of them will be having one of each pair of shoes, i.e. the bride will have one of her own shoes and one of the groom’s, and the groom will have one of his shoes and one of the bride’s.

Now a series of questions will be asked to them and the answer will either be “her” or “him” or “the bride” or “the groom”. The bride and groom will have to answer by holding up the shoe of the correct answer. For example, if the question is “Who is more romantic?” and the answer is “Him”, they both should hold up the groom’s shoe.

There will be around 10 to 30 questions and the game will typically last for 10 to 15 minutes.

Questions can either be planned ahead of time and have them written or printed, will be shouted by the audience, the guests will be asked to write them down on paper or use a mix of all three methods.

Some Tips about the Questions

  • Depending on the type of guests, the questions should be simple and clean
  • Keep a note of the number of questions they answered the same. Later tell them this for fun
  • If questions are taken from the audience, someone should go through them to make sure they are appropriate.
You can place printed cards with questions on each table for guests
