Choose a Hairstylist

If you’re lucky enough to have a hairdresser who knows your hair better than anyone else, just let them create a beautiful hairstyle for your big day. If, however, you don’t, you’ll have to do some research. You can check with your bridal salon are there any experts they recommend or ask previous brides whose hairstyle you’ve admired. Make a list of options and set up consultations.

Prepare Yourself

If you’re meeting with a hairstylist for the first time, it’s important to keep in mind that he or she doesn’t know your personal tastes. Not only will you have to tell what wedding hairstyles you prefer, but you’ll also need to show some examples. It’s recommended to gather wedding hair pictures from online photo galleries and magazines and to bring your own pics to show the way you want your hair to look etc. Those things will give your hairstylist hint about what kind of hairstyle you’re seeking. Another tip: wear white to your appointment to make sure your hair color is showcased atop the right hue. It’s even better to choose a white top with a neckline similar to the one your wedding gown has. Also, make sure you bring your headpiece (at least a picture of it) along for the consultations.

Bring a Camera

It’s important to document all the options before choosing the best one. So, when your hair stylist starts manipulating your hair, ask him/her to take a photo of each finished look from different angles. This is the only way to see how certain hairstyle translates to photos. Once you find the style you particularly like, write down exactly which techniques and products were used. Keeping notes and taking pictures is the only way for both of you to remember what worked, because your consultation might take place months before your big day.
