What is the most important thing when planning your wedding? Everything! So, let’s not repeat over and over again why it’s necessary to think about every little detail, to choose it wisely and to hope everything will go as planned. When it comes to choosing the wedding venue, it’s certainly the most daunting task. It’s the most expensive part, plus you are your invitees are going to spend most of your day there. If you are based in and around London, here are some tips we want to share with you. Hope you’ll find them helpful.
Make a shortlist of potential venues, visit each of them and ask their managers several questions. After you narrow your choices down, check if your date is available and book the venue as early as possible. In London, in general, there are several wedding venue types: historic wedding reception, hotel, marque, sports/social club and restaurant/pub. What do you think is most appropriate for you and your partner? How many invitees you have? Would you like to have a wedding band – is there room for musicians? Is there are dance floor? Is it possible to personalize the venue? Do they have wedding packages including wedding photographer? Think about that when checking out the venue. Managers can be very convincing and they can even confuse you. Create some kind of checklist and take it with you not to forget to ask them anything important.
Some couples choose their civil ceremony to take place at the wedding venue. What about a religious ceremony? If you decide to have one it’s recommended to choose the venue less than 20 minutes away. Also, if you have guests from other parts of UK (and the rest of the world), it’s a good idea that hotel accommodation for them is nearby the venue.
